Jeffrey Lawrence Searight, age 67, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, March 8, 2025, in Slidell.

Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Jeff was the beloved son of Frances T. Searight and Carlin L. Searight. He grew up in the Pines Village neighborhood of New Orleans East and graduated from Georgia Military Academy. After high school, he pursued a career in welding and pipefitting, working with Martin Marietta, Textron, and through various union affiliations, including the pipefitters and carpenters' unions.

Jeff made Slidell, Louisiana, his home in the 1980s, where he lived until his passing. He was a devoted father to Jennifer Searight Cunningham (Owen) and proud grandfather to Taylor and Callie Cunningham. He was also a caring stepfather to Georgette Castillion and a loving brother to Michael W. Searight (Kathy). He is survived by his nephews, Matt and Jacob Searight, and was predeceased by his parents and grandmother, Mary S. Taylor.

Jeff had a true zest for life and a wide range of interests. He enjoyed fishing, target shooting, boating, biking, carpentry, and sharing stories with old and new friends alike. He was known for his sharp wit, generosity, and the joy he found in simple moments.

The Searight tradition is a celebration of life to be held at happier times.  Details will be shared via social media.

Jeff will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
