Jerrel "Jerry" William Laird, age 76, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 in Slidell.

Born December 3, 1945 in Poplarville, Mississippi, he is survived by his wife, Sabine; his son, Kevin; and his two sisters, Grace and Shirlynn.  Jerry was a veteran of the US Army and met his wife Sabine while stationed in Berlin, Germany.  They eventually settled in New Orleans, Louisiana, where they raised their son, Kevin.

After hurricane Katrina, Jerry and Sabine found a new home in Slidell where Jerry then joined the local American Legion post, #185, and served in the Northshore Honor Guard.

Interment of his ashes will be at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery Friday, December 2, 2022, at 11:00am.
