Jerry Allen Gray Jr. passed away on January 21, 2025, aged 63, in Granbury, Texas. He was preceded in death by his mother, Earlynn Robin Gray, survived by his father, Jerry Allen Gray Sr., daughters Morghan Gray, Denelle Hebert (Chip), Mallory Ottinger, and his sisters Tina Gray and Kathy Gardner (Kyle). He is also survived by his nieces Kassidy, Kathryn, Kimberly, Kristine and Karlie, and nephew Brayden.

Jerry was born on December 10, 1961, to Jerry Sr. and Earlynn Gray in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was raised in Slidell, Louisiana, and graduated from Slidell High School. Jerry earned his Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering, with honors, at Louisiana State University in 1983. He married Patrice Dunnell in Victoria, Texas, in May 1983.

Jerry proudly served in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant for eleven years. He was a Submariner Weapons Officer in charge of the nuclear reactor. Also, he was an instructor for the Navy Nuclear Power School in Orlando, Florida. Jerry and Patrice raised their daughters from coast to coast during his service. Settling in San Angelo, Texas, he worked as an engineer for Johnson & Johnson. Jerry made his way to Granbury, Texas, where he worked at the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant.

Upon retirement, Jerry and his red Jeep hit the road and traveled throughout the United States, his favorites being Route 66, the Dakotas, and Montana. He loved to hike and traveled to many of the Texas State Parks as well as those throughout America. One of his favorite hiking spots was Lake Mineral Wells and Dinosaur Valley. Jerry thoroughly enjoyed musicals, his favorites were The Sound of Music and Les Miserables. He frequented the Granbury Opera House and brought family and friends to enjoy the productions with him. Jerry was an avid reader, and his favorite novel was The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha by Miguel de Cervantes. The last novel he read was David Copperfield by Charles Dickens.
