Jesusa "Susie" Atilano, of Slidell, LA, passed away peacefully at her residence, on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ismael Alonzo Atilano; her parents, Andres and Petra Ramirez; and six siblings, Andres Ramirez Jr., Santos Trevino, Tomasa Gonzalez, Gregoria Tijerina, Marin Ramirez, and Ben Ramirez.

Susie is survived by four children, Elias (Judy), Roberto, Gilbert, and Diane (James) Atilano; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Brandin), Gavin, Marissa (Chris), Alyssa (Troy), and Clarissa; four great grandchildren, Cecilia, McKenzie, Montgomery, and Miles. Also survived by two sisters, Celia Trevino and Susana Ramirez.

A native of Charlotte, Texas, and a resident of Slidell since 2000. Susie was a devout Catholic and a woman of great faith. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother first and foremost. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and other family members. Susie's hobbies included crocheting, cooking, especially making tortillas and tamales with her family.

The family would like to share special thanks to St. Tammany Hospice and Susan Orser for the care and concern shown for Susie during her final days.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Catholic Funeral Mass at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME,

1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 11:00 A.M.

Visitation at the funeral home on Saturday after 9:00 A.M. until funeral time.

Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
