Jo Ellen Wroten, 89, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026, in Mandeville, Louisiana.

Jo Ellen was born August 6, 1937, in Epps, Louisiana, to Joseph and Evelyn Robinson.

In 1957 she married Andrew Jackson Wroten in Union, Mississippi, and in 1972 the couple moved to Slidell.

Jo Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew “Jack” Wroten; a son, Roger Wroten; two grandchildren, Kelsea Shae and Beau Joshua; brother, J.T. Robinson Jr.; and sisters, Estelle Robinson, Elsie Marie Pepper, and Patsy McDuffie.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Zeringue (Keith); beloved grandchildren, Farrah Fitte (Paul), Fawn Fandal (Matt), Karl Zeringue, Sean Zeringue, Joseph Wroten (Cheyenne); great-grandchildren, Beau Fitte, Will Fitte, Jack Fitte, Macie Fandal, Wyatt Fandal, and Skylar Wroten.

She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, family, and traditions that will continue for generations. She will be remembered not only for the things she did for those she loved, but for the way she made them feel: always welcomed, always important, and always loved.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Honaker Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell LA at 1:00pm.
