John "Johnny" Marion Johnson, age 89, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, in River Ridge, Louisiana.

Johnny was an active member of the Picayune, Mississippi community and civic groups since 1990.  A beloved father, grandfather, and brother, he will be greatly missed by his children, Rhonda J. Mosier, Laura J. Cockfield, and John "Randy" Johnson; his grandchildren, Benjamin M. Cockfield, Liana C. Cockfield, Jared B. Mosier, and Eli K. Mosier; his son-in-law, Matthew J. Cockfield; his sisters, Patsey J. Moss and Kay J. Wood, and a host of other family members and friends.

Johnny was a graduate of the University of Alabama, and he served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1975. He was a deeply spiritual man and an engaging storyteller.

Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Dianna "Connie" Johnson of Carriere, Mississippi, his parents, Troy T. Johnson and Jewel J. Johnson of Gordo, Alabama, and his brother Clifford Johnson of North Carolina.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME,

1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA
on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 11:00 A.M.

Visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday after 9:00 A.M. until funeral time.

Interment will follow at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell, Louisiana.
