Joseph Dana Stein passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side on Monday April 15, 2024 at the age of 69.  Joe was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and resided in Slidell, Louisiana.

As the owner of Stein's Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, he provided quality service to Louisiana and Mississippi customers for more than 50 years with closest friend and partner in the business, Ronnie Nowell, for the past 40 years.

He was known for his selflessness, kindness, honesty, integrity, and wit. Joe was respected, admired, and loved by everyone who knew him. He was a loving husband, father, hard worker, excellent provider, and a pillar of the community.

Joe was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge # 2321 for 44 years. 1980-2024, and Exalted Ruler 1984-1985.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Kathy Willard Stein; daughters Patricia Stein Mustafa, Tyler Stein Cooper; stepson, Joshua Willard; grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as all of his family and friends.

He was a true Saints fan, loved to entertain, and travel, but enjoyed his Grandkids most of all.

Joe requested that there be no ceremonial services held.  In honor of Joe we ask that donations be made to Children's Hospital, the local SPCA, or the American Cancer Society in his name.
