Kathleen "Katie" McIntosh, a beacon of light and warmth, bid farewell to this world on Friday, September 29, 2023. She was born on February 18, 1935, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Robert and Hazel Meyers. Katie graced our lives with her presence for 88 years, leaving an unforgettable mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
In 1963, she married the love of her life, Raymond McIntosh Jr. Together the two owned Ray's Bull Pen in Slidell, Louisiana for 35 gracious years. Day in and day out Katie happily greeted each customer with a smile – humming her favorite songs as she showed them to their seats.
Katie was an extraordinary woman. Her love radiated through every smile, illuminating even the dullest moments. A beacon of joy, she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family, leaving behind a tapestry of love and precious moments. Her playful spirit infused life with laughter, etching unforgettable memories in the hearts of all who knew her. While she may have bid farewell to this world, the glow of her affection lingers, a timeless remembrance of her warmth and happiness.
Katie is preceded in death by her husband Raymond McIntosh Jr, three children, Lawrence "Larry" Bell, Richard "Ricky" Bell, Michael Bell, brother Robert "Bobby" Meyers, sister Amber Nunez, and grandson Christopher McIntosh.
Katie is survived by seven children, Raymond McIntosh III, Kevin McIntosh (Stacy), Kathy Bell, Cathy Watson, Christy Reardon (Richard), Raye Dusek, Beverly Ledet (late Charles Ledet), sixteen grandchildren, Virginia Brodwater (Barry), Lawrence Dell, Chelsea Ellinger, Madison Williams, Brittany Galatas, Richard Bell (Rebecca), Jennifer Bell, Jessica Bell, Brandi McIntosh, Raymond McIntosh IV, Logan McIntosh, Paul Dusek, Robert Dusek, Roger McGough, Lance McGough (Brandi), Laura Denis, and Joseph Martorana and many great-grandchildren who she loved dearly.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral Mass at OUR LADY OF LOURDES CHURCH, 400 Westchester Blvd, Slidell, LA 70458, on Monday, October 23, 2023. Family and friends may visit the church beginning at 11:00am. The funeral mass will begin at 12:00pm.
Burial will immediately follow at Honaker Forest Lawn Cemetery.
A celebration of Katie's life will be held on November 4, 2023 at 1:00pm at Laura's Park on Hwy 433 in Slidell, where friends and family will gather to remember and the amazing person Katie was. Additional details will be posted on Facebook.
As we say our goodbyes, let us remember Katie not with tears of sorrow, but with gratitude for the joy, wisdom, and love she shared. May she rest in eternal peace, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and uplift generations to come.
