Obituary

Kevin Paul Romain, 53, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, September 5, 2022. He was brave in his fight against brain cancer that lasted 18 months.

Kevin was born December 2, 1968, in Lutcher, Louisiana, to Walter Ray Romain and Rachael Daigle Romain. He resided in Reserve, La. for 18 years before traveling throughout his military career (picking up the Order of the Magellan certificate) and finally settling in Slidell, La. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 26 years working primarily in aviation. He retired as an Aviation Machinist's Mate Senior Chief Petty Officer (ADCS) (AW). He continued to work as a civilian alongside the fine men and women of Fleet Readiness Center Mid Atlantic, NOLA. Kevin was a hard-working, spiritual man dedicated to God, Family, and Country. Kevin had a uniqueness about him that if you heard his voice, you just knew it was him. He was truly loved and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sheri Romain; four children, Joshua Romain, Caleb Romain, Hannah Romain, Heather Romain, and also a father figure to Talen Giordano; mother, Rachael Daigle Romain; brother, Wendell (Kimberly) Romain; sister, Natalie (Steven) Simoneaux; nieces, Lisa, Mya, Amy; nephews, Trevor, Caleb, Jaden; Mother-in-law, Roseanna (Bill) Miller and father-in-law, Earl (Evelyn) Rodriguez; brother-in-laws, Paul Rodriguez, Billy Miller, Lawrence Simoneaux; also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Preceded in death by his father Walter Ray Romain; maternal grandparents, Adam Woodrow (Doc) and Lucille Suarez Daigle; paternal grandparents, Berdner and Amy Bellard Romain, and niece, Lindsay; and preceded in death by brother-in-law Earl Rodriguez III.

All are invited to attend the Funeral Services on Monday, September 19, 2022, at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell, LA.

Visitation will begin at 9:00am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00am.

Burial with military honors will be at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery at 12:30pm.
