Kristen Eileen
Burras
Nov 27, 1991 — Mar 20, 2024
Madisonville
Kristen Eileen Burras, 32, of Madisonville, Lousiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in Madisonville.
Kristen was the cherished daughter of Sharon Broussard and Daniel A Burras. She was the beloved youngest sister of Jessica West, Daniel Burras and Ryan Burras. Kristen spent her childhood in Slidell, Louisiana where she particularly enjoyed nature, pets, school and overnights with friends. Her friend Megan was like another sister.
She was an excellent, responsible student who graduated in 2010 from Northshore High School and then attended Delgado and Delta School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse for Ochsner Women's Health Center, St. Tammany Health System and as a Pediatric Nurse at St. Tammany Parish Hospital.
Kristen found her highest calling, greatest passion and unsurpassable love in being the mother of four fantastic children. Layla McArthur, her first child, was her "mini-me", sharing interests and activities and many personality traits. Kristen's family grew with the arrival of sweet Ellie Kathryn, Aden Charles and Rome Anthony Lobre. All four of her children inherited her "look" – particularly the unique shape of her eyes. When the children look into the mirror – or when anyone sees the children – their eyes will always evoke memories of their strikingly beautiful mama, Kristen Burras.
The words that others often use to describe Kristen are kind, loving, gentle, quiet, fun and reliable. It is said that she had a "heart of gold". Kristen never, ever had a mean bone in her body. She had the true 'servant heart' which was expressed through nurturing and caring for others as a nurse and as a mother.
May we all carry a part of Kristen's spirit with us and show it through acts of kindness toward others. And may her children always know that their momma will watch over them from Heaven and help them be the best they can be every day of their lives. They might sense her presence in the stars, in rainbows, in butterflies and feel her caressing hug in the warmth of the sun or a campfire. She's invisible now, but there for all of us, forever in our hearts.
