Lawrence Dupont Jr., 94, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, in Slidell.

Lawrence was born June 29, 1930, in Hamburg, Louisiana, to Lawrence and Lula Dupont. In 1952 he married Freda Fournier in Marksville, Louisiana. After moving to New Orleans, he entered the U.S. Marine Corps. In 1983, the couple moved to Slidell.

Lawrence was a heavy equipment operator for S.K. Whitty Construction Company and a parishioner of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church in Slidell.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Clifton Dupont, Harold Dupont, Harry Dupont, Leland Dupont; and a sister, Doris Dupont.

Lawrence is survived by his wife 72 years, Freda Dupont; five children, Cynthia Rook, Lawrence Dupont III (JoAnn), Landry Dupont (Lisa), Phillip Dupont, Rachel Huskins (Kevin); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell, Louisiana, on Friday, August 23, 2024.

Visitation will begin at 9:00am followed by the funeral service at 10:00am.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
