Lennie L. Dill, 70 of Slidell, La, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 2, 2022.
Lennie was born on July 8, 1952, to Wynell and Bobby Sam Dill in New Orleans, La. After graduating from Picayune Memorial High School in 1970, Lennie went on to study Electronics at United Electronics Institute in Birmingham, Al.
After graduation, Lennie started working in the technology field. He started his career at Honeywell International. He went on to work at Oracle Corporation as a Sr. Field Engineer and retired in 2016 with 37 years of service.
In 1971, Lennie met Linda, and they wed on March 14, 1972 going on to have 2 children, Michael L. Dill and Karen L. Dill.
Lennie was a resident of Slidell, La since 1995. Lennie enjoyed cooking and grilling. His favorite pastimes were golfing, watching vintage TV shows such as Gunsmoke and Perry Mason and doting on his dog "Muffin." Lennie was an avid Mississippi State Bulldogs and New Orleans Saints fan. He was a quiet gentle soul that loved his family and friends unconditionally. Lennie was adored by anyone who knew him and will be missed immensely.
He was preceded in death by his mother Wynell Dill and father Bobby Sam Dill. He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife Linda Fisher Dill, son Michael L. Dill, (Bethany), daughter Karen L. Dill, 6 grandchildren: Lauren Holmes (Cameron), Paige Panks, John Panks, IV, Anna Grace Dill, Jane Alice Dill, Lilah Kate Dill and 1 great grandson Finley Taylor Holmes; 2 brothers: Kenneth D. Dill (Christy) and Randall G. Dill (Melinda) as well as many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life and memorial service will be held in honor of Lennie on Saturday September 17, 2022, at True Life Church in Slidell, La. (62160 Airport Rd. Slidell, La) Visitation will be from 1:00 PM till 1:30 PM with memorial service starting promptly at 1:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations made payable to: True Life Church. Please reference in memo: Children's Ministry, In Memory of Lennie Dill.
