Lillie "Carol" Herbold, 88, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, in Slidell, Louisiana.
Carol was born December 27, 1936, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Joseph and Cornelia Beatty.
She was a loving wife of nearly 70 years to Lorin L. Herbold. They were married December 27, 1955, in Catonsville, MD. She was a wonderful wife and mother, raising four children, active in church, always sharing and caring for others, while maintaining a successful sewing business. She loved her family fiercely and loved Jesus more. She was most concerned about the salvation of others, and especially most recently for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is known for her sweet spirit and sense of humor. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Beatty and Joseph R. Beatty, Jr.; son-in-law, Clayton Panks; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Herbold, grandson, Jonathan Panks.
Carol is survived by her husband of 70 years, Lorin Herbold; four children, Tim Herbold, Lori Panks, James Herbold, Linda Vicknair (Floyd); ten grandchildren, Aaron Herbold, Moonyung Larson (Christian), Jason Panks, Jared Panks, Melissa Panks, Amanda Fisk, Amy Godwin (Joseph), Michaela Othmani (Ahmed), Michael Fisk, Carmen Brown (Justyn), Eric Vicknair (Kendra); great-grandchildren, Jaiden Panks, Lilli Godwin, Magnolia Godwin, Chloe Godwin, Theodore Godwin, Anderson Betsch, Margot Betsch, Maren Betsch, Anthony Benoit, Hollyn Brown, Carter Fitzgerald, Everleigh "Evie" Fitzgerald, Harrison Vicknair (Jessica), Grant Vicknair, Sawyer Vicknair, Camden Vicknair, Oliver Vicknair; niece, Anna McBride.
Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church Slidell, 4141 Pontchartrain Drive, Slidell LA, on Monday, December 15, 2025.
Visitation will begin at 9:00am followed by the funeral service at 11:00am.
Burial will be in Heaven's Way Cemetery in Carriere, Mississippi.
