Obituary

Lola M. Monroe died peacefully at home in Pearl River, Louisiana, on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, after a lengthy illness. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Lola was very active in the Pearl River community. She was an active member of the Pearl River Planning Commission, Pearl River Fire Department District 11 Board of Commission, and was retired from the Pearl River Post Office.

She is survived by her children, David Monroe, Robin Riley (Jon), Ramon Monroe (Virginia), Randy Monroe (Beverly), Rhonda Richardson; daughter in law, Cheryl Monroe; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; sisters, Mary Duplesses (Anthony), Gaynell Chatham (Ronnie), and Susan Sortina (Louie).

Lola was preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Monroe; sons, Hollis "Jimmy" Monroe, Charles Allen Monroe; parents, Charles P McCawley, Mary McCawley; siblings, Charles McCawley, Donnie McCawley, and Vickie Warchol.

Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell LA 70460 on Saturday, July 18, 2026.

Visitation will begin at 9:00am followed by the funeral service at 11:00am.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell.
