Mr. Lonnie "Rance" Richard was born on October 21, 1937. He was one of eleven children born to Charlie and Nellie Richard. He grew up in Columbia, MS, where he met and married Camella Bolton. Lonnie later moved to Slidell, LA, where he was self-employed for many years as a wood hauler until he was no longer able.
Lonnie was a very industrious hardworking man and took pride in the fact that he could fix just about anything. He had the attitude "that if a man made it, he could fix it." Lonnie loved his children and watching wrestling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Nellie, a daughter Gloria, a granddaughter Natasha, wife Camella, five siblings Hawatha, Diana, Robert Sherman, Sonya and Levell.
He leaves to cherish his memories his children; Noland Miller (Sheena) of Kokomo, MS, Nichole Richard of Memphis, TN, Allen, Linda, Rusty and Timothy Ray, and his loving companion Cassandra Ray of Slidell, LA, five sisters Linnie Nevis of Slidell, LA, Mary Medious of Columbia MS, Linda Darnell Moses of St. Louis, MO, Carol Brown Harris of New Brunswick, NJ and Sarah Waller of Slidell, LA; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation on Friday at 9:00 A.M. until funeral time.
Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
