Mack Laurence Burns, age 65, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, after battling a long illness.

Mack was a smart, natural leader with a big personality who never met a stranger. He was passionate about music and loved playing the drums. He took great pride in his career as a Regional Sales Manager with Doerle Foods/Sysco, where he enjoyed leading his team. Above all, he was never happier than when he was with the love of his life, Leah. Together, they built a life he deeply cherished, especially their home on the water.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jerilyn Gerdes Davis, and his maternal grandmother, Nita Isabella Sanders.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Leah Buck Burns; his father, Laurence James Burns (Cathy); his daughter, Sherrilyn Burns Caldarera; his grandsons, Sonny Caldarera and Johnny Caldarera; his stepchildren, Austin Buck (Heather) and Emily Buck Abram (Mick); his step-grandchildren, Wren Buck, Scout Buck, and Nora Abram; his sisters, Lisa Burns Schneider, Lauren Burns Dixson (John), and Lynn Burns Gauthreaux; and his many nieces and nephews.

Mack will be deeply missed by his family and friends and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at The Landing, 4750 PONTCHARTRAIN DRIVE, Slidell, Louisiana 70458.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the family's GoFundMe to assist with burial and medical expenses, as Mack had no life insurance and had been unable to work for some time.
