Marcia Short Barto, 83, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Marcia was born November 12, 1939, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Alvin Short and Marguerite Short. On October 24, 1965, she married Peter Barto in New Orleans. In 1985, the family moved to Pearl River.

Marcia was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Barto, in 2006, a daughter, Tina Finch; brother, Marvin Short; and a sister, Marlene Turgeau.

She is survived by two children, Chris Barto (Lisa), and Aimee Lashley (Joe); eight grandchildren, Bo Barto, Logan Jones, Kodey Lockwood, Peyton Duhe, Eli Lashley, Melissa Bahlinger, Chris Kottemann, and Michael Kottemann.

Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell LA 70460, on Friday September 22, 2023. Visitation will begin at 1200 followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm.

Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that a donation be made to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.
