Margaret "Sue" Henry Mailhes, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, in Slidell, Louisiana, at the age of 75. Born on January 11, 1949, in New Orleans, she was a lifelong resident of Louisiana.

Sue dedicated many years to shaping young minds as a school secretary at Covington High School and Slidell Jr. High School. Her commitment to education and her nurturing spirit left a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues. She was a devout member of St. Luke's, where she found great comfort and community. Sue's faith was an important part of her life, providing her with strength and solace throughout her years.

A lover of crossword puzzles, cooking, classic movies, and shopping, Sue found joy in life's simple pleasures. Her talents in the kitchen and her keen eye for film were sources of enjoyment not just for her, but also for those she loved.

Sue was the beloved mother of John C. Nichel and Mitzi N. Buyatte. She was a cherished sister to Mildred Arnold, Donald Henry, Victor Henry, and Mark Henry Sr. Her love and lessons will live on through her grandchildren, Jesse Briar, Emily Clary, Connor Nichel, Justin Clary, Mason Clary, Devlin Nichel, and Claire Buyatte, and great-grandson, Brady Farmer. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Victor Henry, and her husband, Glenn Mailhes.

A private celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
