Obituary

Margaret Jo Mann Taylor, of Slidell, Louisiana, entered her Savior's arms on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.  She was born on October 25, 1934, in Moline, Kansas to Don and Buena Vista Ritchards Mann. She was married to Ishmel Worth Taylor for 58 years before his death.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Ishmel Worth Taylor, her son, Donald Newton Taylor (Joellen), and her daughter, Sharon Taylor Durand (Rick).

She leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Dale Wayne Mann  (Virginia), her daughter, Rebecca (Becky) Taylor Carollo (David), her son, Raymond James Taylor (Cindy), 14 grandchildren, Matthew Scott Taylor (Nikki), Allison Taylor Hoopes (Kevin), Charles Emile Frey (Heather), Shaun Thomas Frey (Brandi), Alexander Joseph Carollo, Amanda Frey DeVilleneuve (Brandon), Justin Alan Carollo (Becca), Eric James Taylor, Shannon Taylor Blanchard, (Tony), Levi Ishmel Taylor, Ryan Jacob Taylor, Patrick Joseph Deynoodt, Heather Deynoodt Ratcliff (Chase), and Morgan Taylor Deynoodt, 29 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and beloved friends.

Margaret enjoyed her years raising her children, teaching at Calvary Baptist Christian School, eventually serving as administrator of Calvary Baptist Christian School for many years, and later was the owner of Kids & Us Christian Daycare. After retirement she loved quilting, traveling, and spending time in fellowship with beloved friends and family. Margaret had a deep and unwavering love for the Lord and spent much of her time in service to him through church ministry.

The family would like to thank Brother Robert Robinson, her pastor, for his faithfulness and love to her, and the nurses and aides at Notre Dame Hospice for lovingly caring for her in her final days. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to St. Jude Cancer Research Hospital or to Covenant Baptist Church in Slidell.

Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home on Saturday, May 25, 2024.

Visitation will begin at 9:00am followed by the funeral service at 11:00am.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
