Marie Louise Norton Talamo, 77, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023, in Slidell.

Marie was born February 11, 1946, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Emile and Marie Norton. In 1967 she married Anthony "Tony" Talamo in New Orleans. In 1969, the couple moved to Chalmette and then later to Slidell in 1998.

Mrs. Talamo was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Slidell, as well as a member of the Altar Society, the Welcoming Committee, and St. Joseph's Altar Society, the Mount Olive Feeding Ministry, and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.

While a resident of Chalmette, she was a founding member of the Socialite Ladies Club and Jr CYO at Prince of Peace Church where she was also a third grade CCD Religion teacher.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Anthony Talamo Jr.; a daughter, Gina Bowman; parents, Emile Norton and Marie Thomas Norton; sisters, Bette Palmeri and Shirley Perret.

She is survived by two children, Anthony Talamo III (Jessica); daughter, Jamie Underwood (Michael); son-in-law, Stephen Bowman Sr.; nine grandchildren, Nicholas Talamo, Margo Talamo, Sonni-Anne Talamo, Anthony Talamo IV, Krysta Underwood (Dylan), Kendal Underwood, Kasidy Underwood, Jacob Bowman, Christian Bowman; one great-grandson, Grayson Leger.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 400 Westchester Blvd Slidell LA 70458 on Thursday, December 14, 2023.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon followed by the funeral Mass at 1:00pm.

Burial will be in Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery.

Instead of wearing black, the family request that attendees wear Christmas colors as Marie absolutely loved Christmas time.
