Marilyn Ruiz-Jackson , 62, of New Orleans, LA , passed away February 26, 2022. Marilyn was born May 2, 1959 to the late Stella Ruiz-Landry and Charles Smith in New Orleans. After graduating from L.B.Landry High school as a champion tennis player, Marilyn went on to enhance her tennis skills at Grambling State University. She was the sister of the late Keith Ruiz and late Garland Ruiz-Charles. She's survived by the youngest of her siblings Charlotte(Andre) Baker. Marilyn never knew a quick run to the grocery store would align her with her future husband the late Burnell L. Jackson. The young couple later raised 5 adoring and loving children together, eldest Shaunyika(Ralph) Williams, Burnell(Na'Keshia) Ruiz, Cornell(Patrecia)Ruiz, Shakeitra(Richard) Adams and Monique Ruiz. Marilyn was the grandmother of 8 grandchildren eldest Tremeka Ruiz, Ka'Mize Ruiz, Christian Ruiz, Charlaya Ruiz, Steven Ruiz, Cornell Ruiz Jr., Jordyn Ruiz, and Ky'za Adams. She was blessed to have one great- granddaughter Tiana Cooks, she is also survived by aunts and uncles as well as a host of nieces and nephews.  Marilyn's legacy will continue on being known as a strong minded, caring woman who lived optimistically, she was outgoing as well as the life of the party with a smile that  could brighten up any room.
