Markham Gaines Dunlap was born on August 23, 1960 to Mr. and Mrs. Clemmie Willie and Myrtle Marie Gaines Dunlap in New Orleans, Louisiana. He departed this life on Tuesday, October 17, 2022 at the ripe age of 62.

Markham accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age, and he was baptized at St. Luke Baptist Church, 2738 Valence Street in New Orleans, Louisiana by the late Pastor, Rev. William Gaines. He was raised in New Orleans and he was educated in the New Orleans Public

School System. He later moved to Fayette, Mississippi where he met and married Jean Frye. He returned to New Orleans and subsequently moved to Slidell, Louisiana. He worked as a landscaper for most of his life, he worked at the Fayette Gazette, in Fayette, Mississippi, and he was employed at Alcorn A&M College in Mississippi.

Markham, affectionately known as "Mark" was a loving soul who was a friend to all. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and grandmother, Willie and Izella Dunlap; his maternal grandfather and grandmother, Reverend and Mrs. William and Lula Bell Gaines; his father and mother, Clemmie and Myrtle Dunlap; and his brother, Virgil Romero Dunlap; and his sister, Dianthus Marie Dunlap.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Jean; one daughter, Janae Stovall; one son, Markham Emmanuel Dunlap; one sister, Judy R. Edgerson (Charles), two brothers, Lyndon B. Dunlap and

Pastor Vincent G. Mitchell (Joan); his very dear friend, Karen Paige and her children, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME,

on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 1:00 P.M.
