Marlene Mary Nata Kennedy went to be with our Lord on June 22, 2026, at the age of 89. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was born to George (Red) and Althea Nata on July 13, 1936, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 74 years, Boy Kennedy, her parents; George and Althea Nata, sister; Joann Nata Langston, nephew; Robert Langston Jr., niece; Laurie Wilkes Wilson, brother-in-law; Jerry Kennedy and sister- in-law; Alice Kennedy Carbo.
Marlene is survived by her three children; Deborah Kennedy Saavedra (Richard), Marlene Kennedy Brouillette (the late Robert Brouillette Sr.), and Kevin Kennedy (Larry Smith), her five grandchildren; Julie Saavedra Breath (Mike), Christie Brouillette De Oliveira (Rei), Richard Saavedra Jr. (Amanda), Joshua Saavedra, and Robert Brouillette Jr. (Cortni), her ten great-grandchildren; Brittni Brouillette, Richie Saavedra III (Lariat), Michael Breath Jr., Lauren Breath, Robbie Brouillette III, Mandie Saavedra, Taylor McAbee, Ellie Saavedra, and Bella Brouillette, her six great- great grandchildren; Cayden DuPont, Calleigh Brouillette, Corvyn Brouillette, Roman Saavedra, Scarlet Saavedra, and Zayne McAbee, her sister Jackie Wilkes, brother; George Nata, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She worked at Luzianne Coffee Company in New Orleans, Louisiana. After, she stayed home to raise her children, then to help with her grandchildren. Marlene loved going to watch her kids and grandkids play sports and LOVED the New Orleans Saints, from day 1, at Tulane Stadium. She especially loved watching Archie Manning, as he was always her favorite.
She was loved by everyone who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. followed by a funeral service in her memory beginning at 1:00pm at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell, Louisiana (INSIDE FOREST LAWN CEMETERY).
Marlene will be laid to rest immediately following the service in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
