Martha G. Beasley, age 82, of Slidell, LA., was born on August 3, 1943, and passed from this life on October 23, 2025. Born Martha Margarite Gingras in Danielson, Connecticut, Martha was the eleventh of twelve children of the late Alpherie and Angelina Gingras.

She spent her childhood years growing up in Danielson, CT., and graduated from Killingly High School. In 1961, she began her career as a legal assistant in her hometown, but after meeting Ken Beasley at a mutual friend's wedding in 1962, she did not stay in Danielson long. She and Ken married in 1963, and moved to Manchester, Connecticut, before eventually settling in Slidell, Louisiana. Martha was a legal assistant in New Orleans and retired in 2004.

Martha had a deep love and appreciation for art and all things beautiful. This was especially apparent in her yard, personalized home decor, and perpetually blooming gardens. Even in the heat of deep south summers, you could find her outdoors doing what she loved most: planting, arranging, pruning, watering, trimming, and simply making her surroundings beautiful. Her yard was always a delight to drive up to, and she repeatedly won "yard of the month" in the neighborhood.

Details were Martha's specialty. She worked tirelessly on tiny facets that most people would never notice, but she would, so she tended to every speck. She once redid an entire hand-painted bedroom floor–twice! She wanted it to be right. This attention to detail really shone in her unbelievable talent for gift wrapping. Her family and friends have marveled over the years at the imagination and ingenuity that went into the wonders she created around gifts. Unique gift wrapping was a Martha Beasley trademark, and it was always as personal and thoughtful as the gift inside.

Known as Grandmother to her four beloved grandchildren, she was their biggest fan. Grandmother enjoyed attending many games, shows, concerts, and recitals over the years. She supported them in every good endeavor as they grew.  She wanted them to know how proud she was of them, not only because of their accomplishments, but simply because they were her grandchildren. As young adults, she encouraged them to use their education, talents, and abilities well, to be the best person God has made them to be. She loved laughing with them. At family gatherings, you could always hear her iconic laughter in a corner somewhere with one of the children. They say that their grandmother was one of a kind! She made the best cranberry bread, four-layer dessert, Thanksgiving turkey sandwiches, cherry cream pie, shrimp dish, and holiday dressing.

Loving the people around her was something Martha did better than most. She was excellent at reading people and would always know what to do or say. She believed the best about everyone and could make a stranger feel comfortable within a few seconds. She was on a first-name basis with many of the associates and employees at her favorite stores and restaurants.

Martha is survived by her loving, devoted husband of 62 years, Ken Beasley; son Keith Beasley and wife Paula of Dallas, TX; son Kevin Beasley and wife Amy of Ruston, LA; granddaughter Brittany Beasley Murray and husband Austen of Shreveport, LA; grandson Braden Beasley and wife Hannah of Denver, CO; granddaughter Gwendolyn Beasley of Ruston, LA; granddaughter Elizabeth Beasley of Ruston, LA; and great-granddaughter Mabry Martha Murray, named after her two wonderful great grandmothers with whom shares the same name. Additionally, Martha is survived by sisters Irene Belisle, Rosemary Beigler, Adeline Bissonnette, Annette Deltac and husband Bill, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Christine for being more than just a wonderful neighbor, but a loving friend who seemed to always see a need - and take care of it - before anyone else even had time to. We would also like to extend our sincerest thanks to Visiting Angel, LaDonna. Her tenderness and friendship this past month have been a tremendous gift and blessing that goes beyond words and will never be forgotten.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA, on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. with service from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M.
