It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth Binder, a cherished mother, sister, friend, and beacon of light to all who knew her. Mary departed from this world on April 6, 2024, leaving behind a unique legacy of love, compassion, and warmth that will forever be treasured.

Born on February 21, 1965, in Sandy Springs, Georgia, Mary was destined to illuminate the lives of those around her. Mary spent her formative years at All Saints Episcopal Boarding School in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Salmen High School in Slidell, Louisiana. Mary attended the University of New Orleans and pursued a nursing degree at Lakeland Community College in Ohio, eventually marrying and assuming the most cherished role as a mother and homemaker. Mary dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family, friends, and community, extending her grace and caring embrace to all creatures great and small who crossed her path.

Mary's greatest joy and proudest achievements were her two children, Jefferey (born December 14, 1985) and Jillian (born May 10, 1987). She showered them with love, instilling in them the values of kindness, empathy, and perseverance. Mary's wisdom, laughter, and unconditional support shaped their lives in profound ways, and her spirit will continue to guide them.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Mills Robert Coleman and Margaret "Peggy" Menard, her stepfather George Sidney Menard, her brother Mills Robert "Rob" Coleman Jr., and her former spouse Stanley Elmer Binder. Mary is survived by her devoted children, Jefferey Binder (Megan) and Jillian Binder Spence; her siblings Sloan Halus and John Greene (Becky); her niece and nephews, Amanda Greene (Jonathan), Noah Albright, and John Ericson Greene (Gabbie); and her beloved grandchildren Victoria Spence, June Binder, Harrison Binder, and Daniel Binder. Mary also leaves behind a community of friends and relatives who were blessed to have felt her warmth and love.

Mary Elizabeth Binder's life was a testament to beauty, loving, and living fully. Though she may have left this world far too soon, her spirit and love will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in peace and love, always and forever.

Family and friends are invited to attend an intimate gravesite service on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell, LA at 11:00 A.M. with a private reception to follow.
