Mary Margaret Fant Israel was born in Alexandria, LA on Friday, February 9, 1940. She was predeceased by her parents, John Ivy Fant and Brenta Palfrey Fant, by her sisters, Gordie Mae Fant and Lelia Marie "Tee" Fant Ryder, her brother Robert Fant, her grandson, Brent Ivy Israel and her daughter, Kris LeBlanc (Les). Margaret is survived by her brother, Ivy "Sonny" Fant (Lenora.)

Mom passed on August 23, 2022 at Chateau Notre Dame in New Orleans, LA, where she received excellent care in both the Memory Care Unit and the nursing home. We will never forget the kindness and love we found among the people who work there.

Margaret leaves three children to celebrate her legacy. They are George Frank Israel, Jr (Jeff), Erika Connolly (Brian), and Kathryn Israel. She leaves behind three grandchildren, Crystal Barrilleaux, Lauren Connolly, and Gabriel Connolly and a great grandchild, Jace. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Our mother loved her family, her faith, and giving dementia a hard time. Her indomitable spirit outlasted the disease and she is victorious in eternity now.

A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell LA, where Margaret will be laid to rest near her daughter and grandson, on Friday, September 2, 2022, at 11:00am.
