Mary Ann Hixson McClain, age 88, of Slidell, Louisiana,  went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.  Mary was born on August 11, 1934, to William and Bessie Hixson in Clarks, LA.  She worked at the Methodist Children's Home for several years and Mother's Day Out at First United Methodist Church in Slidell, LA. Mary worked with children all her life and they loved her.

She is survived by her five children: Jeff McClain, William McClain, Ehrett McClain, Patrick McClain, and Beth Hall (James); her four grandchildren: Stamper Scott (Amber), Glen McClain, Lauren McClain, and Grant McClain; her five great-grandchildren: Tyler Scott, Taylor Scott (Karley), Chandler Scott (Kassidy), Jordan Scott, and Anabeth Scott; two great-great grandchildren Camille Scott and Hudson Scott.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe Wayne McClain, her son Joseph Grant McClain and her grandson Justin Scott.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 12pm at Elizabeth Sullivan Memorial Methodist Church in Bogalusa, LA. Visitation will begin at 10:00am at the church.
