Mary Teresa Wawrzyniak Sanger, a longtime resident of St. Joseph, Missouri, and a resident of Mandeville, Louisiana, for the past ten years, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025, in Mandeville, at the age of 93.

Mary was born September 19, 1931, in Halls, Missouri, to Francis Joseph and Mary Etta Roberts Wawrzyniak.  In 1950 she married John Joseph Sanger in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Mary worked at Noma Lights, Kresge's, and retired from TG&Y Stores in St. Joseph.

Mary was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph William Sanger.

She is survived by her husband of 75 years, John Joseph Sanger; daughter, Teresa Marie Brown (Bertrum Brown); son, Leon James Sanger (Shirley Marie Danner Sanger); grandchildren, James Hiatt, Jamie Marks (Danny), Jennie Labry (Ray), Jessica Picard (Chad), Jillian Sanger (James Lusk); great-grandchildren, Hannah Marks, Mackenzie Marks, Ayden Marks, Landyn Marks, Ray Paul Labry, Jax Picard, Kylie Sanger, Jolene Lusk; brother, Robert Lee Wawrzyniak.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell LA 70460, on Thursday, August 7, 2025.

Visitation will begin at 12:30, followed by the funeral mass at 1:30pm.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in St. Joseph, Missouri, at a later date.
