MaryAnn Andrews Arcement, age 76, of Slidell, La., passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard P. Arcement; her parents, Charles Andrews Sr., and Alice S. Andrews; and her brothers, Charles Andrews Jr., and Louis Andrews. MaryAnn is survived by her children: Meredith Carroll (Wayne Holden); Jason Mead (E. Lee), and Marc Arcement (Susie); seven grandchildren: Addyson, Landry, and Hudson Carroll; Alice and Thomas Mead; Brittany Carter (Clint); and Marc Arcement Jr. (Jacq); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, who she loved dearly.

MaryAnn was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. and later made a home for her family in Slidell. In her prime, she was a fierce tennis player. She truly had a love and gift for the game. However, her biggest love was enjoying fun times and making memories with her children. Some of their best memories together include crabbing on the old crabbing bridge, spending countless days on the Mississippi Gulf Coast beaches, coaching her children's soccer & softball teams, and teaching them to water ski. MaryAnn was the definition of the "fun mom" who everyone wanted to spend time with.

She worked as a florist at Van's Flower Garden, and they instantly became her second family. After that, she worked for Tulane University Medical Center where she met many wonderful friends, as well as the love of her life, Richard. The two had a wonderful life together. They loved gardening, fishing, and spoiling their many grandchildren and dogs. To say there was never a dull moment would be an understatement. Maryann was also a paraprofessional at Bayou Woods Elementary School until she retired in 2009. She will be deeply missed, and parties will never quite be the same without her. However, we know she is in a better place, and the party has started in heaven.

A Funeral mass will be held at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, 58203 LA Hwy 433, Slidell, on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 11:00 AM.

Visitation will begin at the church after 9:00 AM.

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans, LA., immediately following the funeral mass.
