Maurice Paul Guth, Jr., 87, a longtime resident of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 in Slidell, Louisiana. Paul was born March 27, 1934, in Shippenville, Pennsylvania, to his loving parents, the late Maurice Guth, Sr. and Florence Mortimer Guth.

Paul graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in January 1956 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education majoring in Accounting.

Paul served in the United States Army at the European Headquarters where he was honorably discharged.   He worked 21 years in Pennsylvania and Ohio before he moved to New Orleans to work at McDermott International as the Corporate Director of Office Services for 20 years where he had the privilege to travel the world before retirement.

He was an active member of St. Luke's the Evangelist church in Slidell, Louisiana.  He enjoyed photography and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jocelyn Stover Guth, and a son, David Paul Guth.

He is survived by one daughter, Diane Guth LaBorde: two granddaughters, Alyssa Guth and Abigayle LaBorde:  one great granddaughter Alaina Huff: and a sister, Lois Guth Newhouse (Jerry) and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service at St. Luke's the Evangelist Church located at 910 Cross Gates Boulevard, Slidell, Louisiana at 11:00 a.m. on April 2, 2022.
