Mavis Beggs Trahan, 82, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, in Slidell.

Mavis was born May 19, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas, to Thad and Jewell Beggs.  In 1961, she married Theodore Ainsworth Jr., and moved with her family to New Orleans, where she raised four daughters. Mavis retired to Slidell in 2008.

She was preceded in death by a grandchild, David Schneider III.

Mavis is survived by four children, Deborah Ainsworth, Terry Ainsworth Hattier, Daina Ainsworth Sylvia, Nicole Ainsworth Alpeter; two sisters, Ann Beggs Anderson, Barbara Beggs Rodriguez; six grandchildren, Derrick Schneider, Heather Hattier Riggio, Brittany Sylvia Thompson, Lauren Sylvia Hopstetter, Kevin Sylvia, Thad Alpeter; five great-grandchildren, Aaden McKenzie, Gavin Hopstetter, Hailey Hopstetter, Jacob Riggio, Chloe Riggio; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
