Mellie Rosalee Whiddon Lott, 92, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023, in Slidell.

Mellie was born April 28, 1931, in Lamar County, Mississippi, to Alfred Sherman Whiddon and Viola Angeline Melton Whiddon. In 1950 she married John Everett Lott. Over the years, the couple lived Tallulah, Chalmette, Bogalusa, and Slidell. Mellie was an LPN and was employed by Greenbriar Nursing Home and Slidell Memorial Hospital.

Mellie was preceded in death by her husband, John Everett Lott; a great-grandchild, Braelyn Gardner; three brothers, William Whiddon, Robert Whiddon, Polk Whiddon; and one sister, Edna Josephine Patterson.

She is survived by four children, John E. Lott Jr, Linda Lott Goodwin (Bob), Patricia Ann King (Randy), Karen Rebecca Gardner; niece, Deborah E. Lott Brant (Wayne); four grandchildren, Paul M. Bennett, Angela R. Bennett Walgamotte, Bryan T. Gardner, Brenton E. Gardner; three great-grandchildren, Everett Gardner, Annabelle Bennett, Aubrey Gardner; cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West in Slidell, from 9:00am until 11:00am.

Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery in Crossroads, Mississippi.
