Merrie Anne Woods Guillot, age 86, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away peacefully under the care of Interim Hospice on Monday, March 25, 2024, in Slidell with her three daughters at her side.

Merrie was born December 25, 1937, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to Eugenia Brister Woods and Aubrey J. Woods.  After growing up in Bunkie, Louisiana, she secretly eloped and married her longtime friend and love, Lloyd Paul Guillot on April 11, 1956 in Woodville, Mississippi. In 1965 the family moved to Slidell so Lloyd could practice veterinary medicine at Slidell Veterinary Clinic. Merrie was a homemaker and one heck of a cook.

Merrie was a loving mother to four children; Cheryl, Karlynn, Jeanine and Lloyd, Jr.  After raising children; she worked as a volunteer at Covenant House, as a CASA and later as a leader for Bible Study Fellowship.  She was always a devout Christian who's mission was to lead others to God's word.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Paul Guillot; a son, Lloyd P. Guillot Jr.; and brother, Aubrey Woods.

She is survived by three children, Cheryl Carter (Winn), Karlynn Hines (Kirk), Jeanine Wisecarver (Chris); nine grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren; all of whom she loved dearly.

A service will be held at St. Timothy on the Northshore, 335 Asbury Dr., Mandeville, LA on Friday, May 10th, 2024, at 2pm.  A reception will follow with coffee and dessert.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local Hospice provider.
