Michael W. Deckelman III, 82, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024, in Slidell, Louisiana.

Michael was born September 2, 1941, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Michael W. Deckelman Jr and Rosemary McElroy. In 1957 he married Virginia Lorraine Pettit. He retired from Louisiana Cement Company in New Orleans.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Pettit Deckelman; a son, Robert Michael Deckelman; two brothers, Chuck Deckelman and Vincent Michell.

Michael is survived by one son, Michael Deckelman IV (Connie); two brothers, Francis Michell, David Michell; sister, Anita Deckelman Bruno; two grandchildren, Michael W. Deckelman V (Jennifer), Matthew Robert Deckelman (Cheryl); four great grandchildren, Breanna Deckelman, Savannah Deckelman, Levi Deckelman, and Lucas Deckelman.

Memorial Services will be held at Peace Grove Baptist Church, 30509 Horseshoe Island Rd in Lacombe, Louisiana 70445, on Saturday, March 30, 2024.

Visitation and services will be held from 10:00am until 12:00 noon.

Memorial Gifts may be made to the Peace Grove Cemetery Maintenance Fund.

Fishing attire is appropriate.

A reception will be held afterward at the church.
