Michael W. Margiotta, Sr., 67, a longtime resident of Slidell, passed away on September 25, 2025.

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on August 28, 1958, to Anthony J. Margiotta, Jr. and Annie O'Brien Margiotta, Michael was raised in the Irish Channel neighborhood of New Orleans.  He was a graduate of Redemptorist High School where he excelled in athletics, especially football.

Before retiring, Michael worked as a tugboat captain – a career that reflected both his strong work ethic and his enjoyment of time spent on the water.  He was an avid fisherman, an animal lover, and a devoted LSU fan who rarely missed watching any LSU sporting event.

Above all, Michael was a proud and loving father and grandfather.  He considered these roles his greatest accomplishments.

He is survived by his children, Michael W. Margiotta, Jr. (Sammie) and Tina A. Margiotta (Rodney); his brother, Anthony J. Margiotta, III; and his sister, Sandra Willis (Lenny). He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Rodney, Dylan, Allison, Anna Rose, River, Micah, and Mia.

The family will hold a private service to honor his life at a later date.
