Michael David (Mike) Wilson, 71, a long-time resident of Slidell, Louisiana, was called home to Christ on May 29, 2026. He was born August 26, 1954, in Birmingham AL, into a military family.  They moved every couple of years, living in numerous locations throughout the United States. Mike attended West Spring High School in Springfield VA and proudly joined the US Marine Corp following graduation, serving most of his enlistment in Japan.

Following his enlistment, Mike was employed by various U. S. Government agencies, as an IT Specialist in Systems Analysis, including the Department of the Navy, Defense Information Systems Agency and the U. S. Department of Agriculture National Finance Center.  He retired in 2020.

Being a veteran, Mike carried that quiet strength, loyalty and selflessness into every part of his life.  Mike truly lived the phrase "Once a Marine, Always a Marine".  He loved his family and friends fiercely and was always there for anyone who needed him.  Mike enjoyed the outdoors, bon fires with friends, traveling, going on cruises, going to the beach, and being with family.  He was an avid sports fan following LSU, Auburn, and the Saints.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Aimee Konnecker Riley of Slidell LA; his brother, Stephen Wilson (Lisa) of Madison, AL; sisters, Patricia Mills of Hoover, AL and Sandra Ducette (Richard) of Alabaster, AL.; Nicole and Jason Dufault who Mike came to adore as his own kids and the light of Mike's life, his grandson, Luke.  Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph W. Wilson and Wilda L. Hollen Wilson.

A private memorial will be held at a later date. The family asks you consider a gift, in memory of Mike, to Big Sky Ranch/CATNIP Foundation or St. Tammany Animal Resource Team (START).
