On December 18th, 2024, Myra Elaine Ward, of Slidell, passed away peacefully in her home with her family surrounding her.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Houston Louis Riggins and Ruth Elizabeth "Lee" Riggins; one brother, Houston "H.L." Riggins, and three sisters; Eva Cannon, Gloria Sones, and Gail Duncan.

She is survived by her two children, Jerry Wayne Miller, Jr. and Racheal Lee Tazelaar (Fredrick); three grandchildren, Cody, Walter, Laila; one sister, Debbie Beech (Willie); and a host of nieces and nephews.

Elaine was the first one we called when we needed prayers, and her faith was never ending. She had such a love of life, always quick to make someone laugh, or make someone mad. Either way, she will be missed.

Visitation is Saturday, December 28th from 9am to 11am with a service at 11am at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell, Louisiana.

Burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery to follow.
