Patricia J
Aumiller
Mar 16, 1930 — Aug 13, 2023
Slidell
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia J Aumiller on Sunday, August 13, 2023, in Slidell, Louisiana. Born in Kewanee, Illinois in March of 1930, Patty loved to sew, read (especially Bible stores and National Geographic), and dance. As a young woman, Patty loved to dance the Jitterbug, and took great pride in teasing her brothers and sisters. Keith Orr and William Orr Jr, Patty's surviving siblings, can testify to multiple shenanigans.
Pat met her husband, Basil, in Kewanee, and they welcomed three daughters: Janet, Tracey (Darren), and Maggie (Richard). Their family lived along the Gulf Coast for years. Meanwhile Pat and Basil discovered a love for the Ozark Mountains. When Basil retired, the two established a home and many friendships in Searcy County. Pat and Basil loved their "cabin in the woods", as well as the community and neighbors that quickly became their close friends.
Pat's strong Lutheran faith guided every decision, every day of her life. She was known for her hospitality, eagerness to help friends, her love of chicory coffee, and her expert fudge making (Aunt Feryl's recipe) skills.
Pat left behind her husband of more than 60 years, Basil Aumiller as well as numerous fun-loving nieces and nephews.
She had inextinguishable love for her six grandchildren: Elizabeth, Jeff, Dillon, William, Ethan, and Joseph, as well as her four great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, and because of Pat's love of reading, please send donations by check to the Searcy County Library in Marshall, Arkansas, Children's section, 202 E. Main Street, Marshall, AR 72650, Attention: Tammy
Pat would love to know that she inspired children to read.
