Patricia "Pat"
Labarre
Jun 6, 1948 — Feb 4, 2024
Tickfaw
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the unexpected passing of Patricia "Pat" Foret Labarre on Sunday, February 4, 2024. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to so many. Her laugh was contagious, her smile would light up a room and she was always the first to jump in and help.
Pat is survived by husband of fifty-three years, Peter L. Labarre Jr., only son Peter L. Labarre III (Tammi), step grandson Garrett Mathieu, grandson Luke Labarre, and preceded in death by grandson Pierce Labarre. She leaves behind siblings Melvin Foret Jr. (Cheryll) and Beverly Foret Couch (Brian), sister-in-law Diane Labarre Constant (Larry) and preceded in death by Ruth Reaux (Gene). She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat was born June 6, 1948, in New Orleans to Melvin Foret Sr. and Gertrude Comeaux Foret. She attended Fortier High School and graduated in 1966. She was a loyal employee of many years at Coke-Cola and New Orleans Cold Storage. Following a move from Metairie, LA she has resided in Hammond, LA with her husband for the past thirty years. Pat and Pete would have celebrated their fifty fourth wedding anniversary on Valentines Day.
Pat loved her family, always supporting their passion for racing. She was known for making her famous hamburgers, always having a good supply of her popular brownies at the track, and loved spending time with everyone, especially hanging out with her dear friend Linda Cummings.
Her love for family, life, military reunion trips and her racing family will live on in our memories until we meet again.
There is only one true way to celebrate her life and the personality that was Pat Labarre, so the family encourages those attending her funeral to come dressed in their favorite Mardi Gras attire and help celebrate her.
