Patti Purvis Gomez, 86, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023, in Slidell.

Patti was born June 26, 1937, in Jones County, Mississippi, to Thomas and Cassie Purvis. She was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, and taught second grade at Abney Elementary School in Slidell for over 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur F. Gomez; three brothers, Edwin Purvis, Haskel Purvis and O.J. Purvis; eight sisters, Elsie Barnette, Bessie Locke, Tressie Cox, Myrtle Moering, Marjorie Blackman, Mary Gray, Winnie Ishee, and Roselie Beckenbaugh.

She is survived by a daughter, Dawn Mayo; and sister, Miriam Chestnut; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell LA 70460, on Monday, October 16, 2023.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm.

Burial will be on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery, in Ovette, Mississippi, at 11:00am.
