Paul Simeon Titus, Sr., passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at his home in Slidell, Louisiana.

Born to Bert and Inez Titus, August 6, 1942, in New Orleans, Louisiana, he was the oldest of two boys. His early life wasn't always easy, but it was surrounded by love and often filled with laughter. He was a precocious child who grew to be an athletic, outgoing, jokester and at 14 spotted a beauty in City Park to whom he introduced himself. Little did either of them know they'd be married for more than 67 years.

Paul's career began as a shoe salesman at Kinney's Shoe Store and produce manager at National Food Store both before the age of 21 when he was finally old enough to apply to the New Orleans Police Department. A member of Class 26, he worked with the Tactical Unit and led Fleet Management and Intelligence under many Chiefs of Police rising to the rank of Captain. He was respected by many, admired by many more, as a straightforward, honest leader within NOPD but also among Louisiana State Police, the FBI and Secret Service for whom he served as liaison for many dignitaries, foreign leaders and presidents.

Being both one of the first on the department to work with computers and a lifelong outdoorsman, led to a passion he turned into a life after retirement. He became a charter boat captain and began Captain Paul's GPS Systems. Combining his new-found love of computers with his always present love of hunting and fishing, Captain Paul became a map-maker, writer for Louisiana Sportsman Magazine and a nationally known GPS consultant.

Although Paul had been in poor health, no one was prepared for his passing. He was a man who loved his family deeper than can be put into words; the same way we feel about him. He will be immeasurably missed and loved forevermore.

Paul is preceded in death by his son, Paul Simeon Titus, Jr. He is survived by his brother, David (Sandra); his loving wife, Elizabeth; and children, Lucie (Paul, Jr.), Rebecca Fazzio (Dominick, Sr.), Mark Sr. (Luz), Daniel, Sr. (Lorrie), and Jennifer (Tracy).

Also survived by twenty grandchildren; Rachel Titus (Brock Hymel), Paul Titus, III (Marjie), Alex Titus (Heather), Dominick Fazzio, Jr., Jenny Fazzio (Kevin), Scott Fazzio (Rebecca), Gina Jones (Jay), Jessica Titus, Mark Titus, Jr., Eric Titus, Samantha Titus, Luke Titus, Daniel Titus, Jr., Heather Titus, Stacie Titus, Victoria Aamoth (Alex), Harold Solorio-Sanchez, Christhian Solorio-Sanchez, Ana Sanchez-Amador, and Rosauro Sanchez-Amador.

Additionally survived by 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren; Tyler Wimprine (Madison), Alexis Wetzel (Rhys), Isabella Wetzel, Austin Carpenter, Grayson Carpenter, Isabelle Carpenter, Mia Fazzio, Giovanni Fazzio, Leonidas Fazzio, Dominick Jones, Monroe Jones, Lilu Jones, Marcus Jones, Obi Jones, Solomon Awad, Benjamin Awad, Amaya Camacho, Aiden Titus, Cassidy Titus-Merritt, Angelle Orsher, Rudelle Titus, Blakey Wimprine, Atlas Wimprine, and Finn Gaunt.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Honaker Funeral home, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA, on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 1:00 P.M.

Visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday after 11:00 A.M. until funeral time.
