Rachel Nicole Wilson Rushing, loving daughter, mother, sister, and wife, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022 in Slidell, Louisiana. She was 41 years old.

Rachel is survived by her husband, Justin Phillips Rushing; her two children, Caitlin Brielle Thomas and Wyatt Phillips Rushing; her parents, mother, Denise Lambert St Clair; father, James Franklin Wilson Sr.; her father-in-law, Larry Phillips Rushing (Patty); her brothers, James Franklin Wilson Jr., Jeremy Aaron Wilson (Nichole), Zachary Michael St Clair, Tyler Xavier St Clair, and William Ray Cody Wilson; her uncles Daniel Paul Lambert, and David Jay Lambert (Janet); her aunts Joy Morgan (Jeremy), Lorie Wilson Kitchens, and Elizabeth Wilson Talley (Tyrone); her grandmothers, Sue Lambert Armolt, and Mary Wilson; her niece Victoria and her nephew Lucas. Rachel is also survived by many cousins and friends. Rachel is preceded in death by Warren Thomas, father of Caitlin; her maternal grandparents, Paul and Beulah Lambert; her paternal grandparents, Jack Wilson and Nancy Wilson; her mother-in-law, Angel Rushing; great grandparents and other relatives.

Rachel was born in Metairie, Louisiana. Rachel was a veteran who served in the navy as an air traffic controller and held many other jobs throughout her lifetime. Rachel attended college and had several degrees.

Rachel's family and children were of the utmost importance to her, and she loved spending time with each and every one of them. Rachel had the kindest heart and would do anything for anyone, whether she knew them or not. Any room she entered was lit by her presence. Rachel was a very loving, caring, and giving person. Rachel was not judgmental and always looked for the best in everyone. Rachel affected every person she encountered and will be missed dearly by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
