Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ramona Cabral Mancuso, aged 84, on May 30, 2025. She was born on December 6, 1940, in Nagua, República Dominicana, to the late Maria Mercedes and Phillipe Cabral. Ramona shared many happy years with her husband, Bart J. Mancuso, whom she married in 1963. She lovingly took care of him at their home in Metairie, Louisiana, until his passing in 2009, demonstrating her unwavering devotion and love.

Ramona was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, known for her fabulous spirit, generosity, and the ability to light up any room she entered. She loved to sparkle and dance, bringing joy to those around her. As a beautician, she taught cosmetology at The International Beauty School on Canal Street in New Orleans for many years, where she made people feel beautiful and unique.

Ramona shared a deep bond with her best friend and life companion, Pedro Davila. Together, they shared a home in Bay St. Louis, MS, and they traveled to many places, creating precious memories and enjoying life's adventures side by side.

Ramona cherished spending time with her family, always finding joy in their company. Her legacy lies in the lessons she imparted to her loved ones, teaching them to embrace their true selves and pursue their passions. She was a guiding light, encouraging her family to chase their dreams and always reminding them of the importance of love, kindness, and generosity. The memories made around the dinner table, during family vacations, and at celebrations will forever be treasured, as they have shaped the individuals her family has become today.

Ramona is survived by her children; Margarita Mancuso Knowles and Rebecca Mancuso, her grandchildren; Shanna Mason, Ellena Cruz, Jimmy Cruz, and Lydia Cruz, as well as her great-grandchildren; Sebastian Walters, Marisol Cruz Wyman, Selina Cruz, and Charlotte Cruz.
