Raymond Joseph "Joe" Bradley passed away peacefully on August 30, 2022 in Slidell, La., at the age of 89. He was born on October 12, 1932 in Twin Rocks, Pennsylvania to the late Raymond J. Bradley and Amelia McHugh Bradley. Joe was also preceded in death by his sister Angela "Joan" Devlin (Gerald), his brother James "Jim" Bradley (Rosemarie), his son Kevin Bradley, and his grandson Bryan Cassard (Gabrielle Facio).

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret Denihan Bradley, his sister Joyce Binder (Franklin), his brother Jerome "Jerry" Bradley (Barbara), his children Maureen Bradley-Austin (Forrest), Dennis Bradley (Diane), Kathleen "Kat" Bradley, his grandchildren Edward Cassard, Jr.(Samantha Fabal), Lauren Lusk (Jeffrey) Dylan Bradley (Diana Willoz), granddaughter-in-law Gabriele Facio, and his great-grandchildren Bryce Cassard, Mae Frances Lusk, Brylee Facio, and Austin Lusk.

Joe grew up in Twin Rocks and was drafted into the Army after high school. He served three years in Europe and after that moved to Pontiac, Michigan. In Pontiac, Joe started working for Chrysler and met Margaret, the love of his life. They got married in June of 1956 and soon had Maureen and then Dennis. Joe's job with Chrysler Aerospace moved the family to Italy where Kevin was born. After about a year the family moved to Turkey where they lived for a year. Upon their return to the United States they moved to New Orleans where Joe became part of the Chrysler Aerospace Division that built the Saturn V rocket booster that propelled the Apollo missions to the Moon. During that time daughter Kat came along.

When the Apollo Program ended, the family stayed in New Orleans, where Joe worked in different businesses until he returned to the aerospace industry, joining Lockheed/Martin building the external fuel tanks for the Space Shuttle missions. Joe and Margaret moved to Slidell in 1991 and he retired from Lockheed/Martin in 1993.

Growing up in Twin Rocks, Joe was active in sports, and excelled at baseball. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman growing up, earning money with some of what he caught. While living in New Orleans Joe coached baseball, softball, and football at Kerry Curley and DiBenedetto playgrounds, as well as coaching the Carrollton girls travel softball team. He was a devout Catholic and was an early parishioner of Resurrection of Our Lord in New Orleans East, and also a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary and St. Luke in Slidell.

Joe and Margaret enjoyed traveling and especially loved visiting friends and family around the country. He was also an avid runner who ran the Crescent City Classic numerous times as well as scores of 5K and 10K races.

Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be missed by all who loved him. The family would like to thank the staff of Summer House Park Provence and Passages Hospice for the wonderful care they provided him.
