Slidell
Raymond L. Hayes Jr., of Slidell, LA, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, with his family by his side.
He is now with his soulmate Elizabeth. Together they shared 60 years of magic. He was the son of the late Ethel Mae Tassin and Raymond Le Flore Hayes Sr. Brother of the late Jack Hayes.
Raymond leaves behind his sister Jimmie Ell Hayes, his sister-in-law Nettie Coslan (the late Johnny), brother in Laws Tony Drago (the late Kathy), William Ragas (Harold) and sister-in-law Vicki Kreamer (Erole). Dad also had many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He had three children. His oldest son Raymond David Hayes (Darlene), his daughter Rebecca Lynn Hayes and his youngest son Daniel Webster Hayes. Between the three we gave dad 12 beautiful grandkids. Wendy Rogers (Jr), Jesse Hayes (Courtney), Matthew Hayes, Donald Jenkins (Beth), Danielle Clark (Riley), Brandon Hayes, Paul Ballon (Amy), Zach McGee, Timothy Hayes, Ryan Hayes (Dorianna), Bryce Jones (Zack), Hailey Hayes. They gave dad fifteen great grandkids. Peyton and Luke Weaver, Ashton and Kerrington Hayes, Emily and Madeline Jenkins, Charlotte and James Clark, Logan and Mackenzie Ballon, Evan and Lucy Hayes, and Nicole, Rhyanna, and Evangeline Hayes.
Dad has left his legacy behind, but his memories will live forever. All of the kids loved their pawpaw, Raymond. He gave us so much laughter and joy. He taught us how to respect, love and be kind to all. He enjoyed his life every day to the fullest. Dad retired at the age of 70 from Hayes Dockside Warehouse in 2006 after 40 years. Dad was a member of the TAK and leaves behind many friends who loved him. He was also a long-time member of Northshore Church in Slidell. You will be missed dad but never forgotten.
