Raymond Anthony Hughes Jr., 81, of Lacombe, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at his residence from complications of heart failure.

He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 7, 1942.  Beloved husband of the late Gaynel Hughes.  He is the son of the late Raymond Anthony Hughes Sr. and the late Catherine Boote.  He is survived by his children, Kerri Wroblewski (the late Jefferey), Raymond A. Hughes III (Vicki) and his four grandchildren: Justin and Jordan Wroblewski and Alexander and Raymond A. Hughes IV. He was the brother of the late Gerald P. Hughes and Cheryl Boote.  He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

He was an Ironworker with the Local Union #58 for 38 years and retired from Boh Brothers Construction. He also served in the U. S. Army as a medic. He enjoyed time with his family, camping, traveling, building, repairing things, and a good crawfish boil.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA, on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 11:00 A.M.

Interment will follow with Military Honors in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY.

Visitation on Thursday after 9:00 A.M. until funeral time.
