Mr. Renley F. Pennington sadly left us on January 12th, 2024 at his home in Slidell. He was 86 years old. He was a hardworking man of humble beginnings from a small town in rural Alabama. He moved to Slidell as a young adult and after a short period of time he became very accomplished in the auto body repair business, eventually proudly opening Pennington's Body Shop in 1967. The business was successful for 50 years and for most of those years his 2 sons working beside him. He was very well known and respected throughout the Slidell community.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Pennington, his daughter Debbie Pennington, and sons Renley Jr. and Larry (Tonya). Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Elise Bolian Pennington, his father Jake Pennington, his mother Wilma Carr Pennington, his step-mother Edna Garcia Pennington and his brother Hubert Pennington.

He was a dedicated family man and loved camping,watching the Saints games, traveling, fishing, building and racing cars. He loved playing pranks on people and loved to pick and joke around. He provided his family with a loving home and supported us in any endeavor we dreamed of. He will surely be missed.

The family will have a small private ceremony at a future date not yet determined.
