Richard J. Walker Sr., 77, of Carriere, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Richard was born March 13, 1946, in Syracuse, New York. In 1963, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he did one tour of duty in Vietnam. He retired from the Marine Corps in 1984, and then worked for the Marine Corps as a Civil Servant for over twenty years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clair and Jane Boyer Walker; his first wife, Sharon Lee Walker; and a brother, Robert C. Walker.

He is survived by his second wife, Patricia Colletta Walker; one son, Richard Walker Jr (Sharon Lee); seven step-children, Wendy Verret (Stephen), Patrick Wainright (Cheryl), Brad Wheaton (Jennifer), Vanessa Carver (Thomas), Brittani Stewart (Tony), Walter Rusby (Michelle), Katelynn Ochoa (David); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell LA 70460.

Visitation will begin at 9:00am followed by the funeral service at 11:00am.

Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, Mississippi.
