Robert Crosby Abney, a resident of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the age of 85. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Johanna Abney; his parents, Leo Abney and Helen Boyle Abney; and his siblings: Leo Abney, Jr., Malcolm Abney, Denny Abney, Jennie Gant, and Gloria Boyles.

Robert is survived by his two sons, Keith (Christy) and Jason (Reagan), and his cherished grandchildren Lanie, Jesi, Noah, and Sophie. He also leaves behind his sister, Adrian Innerarity, and his brothers, Billy and Jimmy Abney.

Robert had a passion for judging fox hunting and enjoyed the camaraderie of the sport. He began his career as a welder before later working at the boat launch at St. Genevieve.

Visitation, service, and burial to celebrate Robert's life will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA, on Saturday, February 1, 2025. The visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11:00am.

The burial will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery directly after the service.
