Sandra Elaine Fortenberry Pfeifer, resident of Fountain, CO, went home to Our Lord on June 6, 2026, at the age of 79. Born in New Orleans, LA, on January 26, 1947, she was one of four children to parents Euel Clifton and Norma Elaine Fortenberry.

Sandra was raised in Lacombe, graduated from Slidell High School in 1964, and attended Southeastern Louisiana College. A Southern belle proud of her roots, she loved her family dearly, was passionate about music, enjoyed movies, Louisiana history, and genealogy, and was strong in her Christian faith. She frequently sang in various churches, delivering spirited and moving renditions of traditional and contemporary gospel songs. Her favorite Bible verse was Proverbs 3:5-6, which guided her throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of over 38 years, Norman I. Pfeifer; and her siblings, Wade C. Fortenberry and Glenda F. Myers.

She is survived by her sister Cynthia Panks (Jeff); niece (who was more a "sister" to Sandra) Sheryl Ann Loup (Jimmy); sister-in-law Kay Fortenberry; three sons, Chuck McGinty (Carrie), Craig McGinty (Felicia), and Jeff Pfeifer (Andrea); two grandsons, Cramer McGinty (Lizz) and Casey McGinty; and two great-grandchildren, Phoebe McGinty and Otto McGinty.

A small gravesite celebration of Sandra's life will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell, LA, on a date to be announced later.
